Why Hire A Professional Pet Sitter?
Maybe you need someone to come let your dog out during the day while your at work? Great way for them to relieve themselves and burn off excess energy.
Or maybe you need to travel out of town? True you could ask a friend/neighbor/family member to do this for you but they may not have the experience or reliabilty that a professional pet sitter has. Boarding is an option but a lot of pets don't do well in that type of environment and boarding can really stress them out.
By having a pet sitter come to your home while your away, your pet is more
relaxed in their own environment and their routine is kept the same. You can also have the peace of mind that your pet(s) are being well cared for. Also it is a good crime deterrant by having someone come to your home.
While your at work, your dog can get social interaction, relieve themselves, and get exercise. This can help with behavioral problems. Good option for puppies who can't hold it for long hours as well as older dogs.
Lets not forget about our feline friends. We get lots of calls to care for cats.
Alot of cats like companionship and miss their owners when they are away. Even if your cat is on the shy side, you want to make sure they have plenty of food, water, and a clean litter box.
Why choose a dog walker/pet sitter over boarding? We come to your home to care for your pet. No need to hassle to get
your pet loaded in the car and them drop them off at a facility and then
pick them up.
Your pet is more comfortable in their own home, less stress on your pet.Your pet will get more personal attention and wont run the risk of being hurt by another pet. Avoid having your pet sedated at the kennel, thats no fun for your pet.
When would boarding be a better option for your pet?
- Pets that have shown any type of aggression towards people, for whatever reason. Some pets are perfectly fine when their owner is around. Then a stranger enters the home without owner present and they become protective of their home. Seen this not only with dogs but cats as well. If you feel your pet will act in this way, you can first do a trial run with pet sitter before you go on vacation. It may be best to have them boarded.
- Any pet that requires care 24/7 or more medical care then average. We can give pills and insulin injections. Any more then that, its probably best to have your pet boarded at a vet's office.
- Pets that are highly destructive when left alone.Though you may be able to keep them confined to a room in your home or a crate.
If you are unsure whether your pet will do well with a pet sitter or about boarding them, pet sitter can give suggestions at initial meet and greet. Please don't be offended if pet sitter declines to care for your pet. Safety for pet sitter and your pets always comes first.
